Warming up a brand-new ad account (7-day plan)

ScaleShield Guides · ~6 min read

Warm-up is the process of building trust on a fresh account before you ask it to carry real budget. Skipping it is the single most common reason new accounts get restricted early.

A simple 7-day ramp

  • Days 1–2: One simple, clearly-compliant campaign at a low daily budget (e.g. traffic or engagement). Let it run untouched.
  • Days 3–4: Increase the budget ~25% and add a second ad set. Keep creative safe and generic.
  • Days 5–6: Introduce your real objective (leads/sales) at a modest budget alongside the warm-up campaign.
  • Day 7+: Begin scaling the winning ad set in ~20–30% steps.
Why it works: steady spend + no policy flags + no erratic edits = a trust profile that lets the account take bigger budgets without tripping automated review.

What not to do during warm-up

Don’t pause and relaunch repeatedly, don’t swap the payment method mid-warm-up, and don’t run your most aggressive creative yet. Save the edgy angles for when the account has history behind it.
